Today I decided to skip my training program. My intention is to get some rest and actually enjoy my compressed holiday. I will resume my training tomorrow. In light to couching today, RTB2 channel tickle my fancy simply because it was showing some montage of Brunei in early days. What really caught my attention was that Kampong Ayer used to practice Padian, and also most of them travel using sampan and actually paddled their way through places as oppose to today which believes in more efficient solution to travel i.e. fast motor boat ( in kg Ayer lah ah) .Hence, no longer sore arms. I just wished that we could have maintained that beauty and still developed into today’s Brunei. We then have a balance of culture and civilization. Sometimes I feel we have been buried with civilization that we failed to preserve our culture.
Another interesting fact that I have meant to mention in my blog is that the bleaching of new born babies. Not literally bleaching, it is just figuratively speaking. If you observe carefully, don’t you realize the babies today, in Brunei, macam mikin puteh. Literally, all of them or the ones I came across. Even if the mummy and daddy look really tanned but managed to spring out a lighter colored baby. To the extreme one might think that the child is adopted. My assumption goes to the mentally of parents nowadays that pretty ones are those who are fair. So, I assume during the trimester period of pregnancy, mums starts to take more milk and some medication that promise to produce baby yang sangat puteh. My concern is that will we be revolutionizing into fairer society? And dissolve our true colors?
I remember when I was a kid, the mentally goes, whoever is fair would be mixed and whoever looks tanned is pure breed. So, what is in the mind of today’s children? Will it be the other way around? Siapa tanned tia pulang mixed? I guess by then mums will start drinking kicap hahahaha
Bah atu saja.
Ciao!
